Focusing on your distinctive needs since 1994

For over 15 years, Togonon Gallery has assisted private, corporate and museum collections discover and select art to meet their unique needs. Our goal is to present exhibitions that encourage provocative and compelling dialogue about contemporary art and living in the twenty-first century.

Located in San Francisco's Union Square district, Condé Nast Traveler short-listed Togonon Gallery as one of the best stops for photography collecting in San Francisco in its Collectors' Edition of May 2010. The gallery is also listed as one of the "Top 100 Best Places to Buy Contemporary Art in San Francisco" in The Stark Guide (www.thestarkguide.com). Togonon Gallery is a member of the San Francisco Art Dealers Association.

Ongoing programming and curatorial projects:

Solo Exhibitions – Togonon Gallery distinguishes its general programming by combining experimental work with historically significant work. We present 6-7 solo exhibitions and 2-3 group exhibitions yearly. We exhibit local, national U.S. and international artists in genres of painting, photography, sculpture and other media. We work with emerging, mid-career and established artists.

Collectors Room – An ongoing exhibition which includes works of gallery artists and other art inventory. We highlight mid-century artists whose art has been overlooked after a period of significant work during the 50s, 60s and 70s. These include Leo Valledor, Peter Forakis, Luis Gutierrez, Sam Provenzano and Charles Schucker.

Counterpoint – An annual photography group exhibition to heighten public awareness of the West Coast’s dynamic contribution to the photographic practice. A catalog accompanies the show.

Crosscurrents – A biennial group exhibition showcasing emerging and mid-career international Asian artists and Asian-American artists to explore how current global art aesthetics, socio-political events, rapid communication and technological advances affect art creation.
